How to make a Surfer on Acid

Surfer on Acid is a very popular drink. It can be found on cocktail menus though out the world, and it’s mostly popular in North America. From nightclubs in New York City to beach bars in San Diego, everyone seems to have slight variations on this drink.

A Surfer on Acid is made with 3 basic ingredients: Jagermeister, coconut favored rum and pineapple juice. Most people use Malibu as the coconut rum, but you can find many different brands of rum that will work just as well. Different ratios of ingredients as well as different brands of rum are the two main variables to this drink. We list some of the more popular recipes below.

Surfer on Acid – Large Shot
1/4 oz. Jagermeister
1/3 oz. Coconut Rum
1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Pour ingredients into a shaker over ice and shake until it’s cold. Strain into a large chilled shot glass or an old-fashioned glass. Enjoy!

Surfer on Acid – Larger & Stronger Shot
1/2 oz Jagermeister
1/2 oz Coconut Rum
1/2 oz Pineapple Juice
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake it up. Strain drink into a large chilled shot glass or an old-fashioned glass. Shoot it!

Surfer on Acid – A 2 Shot Recipe
3/4 oz Jagermeister herbal liqueur
1/2 oz Pineapple juice
3/4 oz Malibu Rum
Pour ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake it up. Pour contents into 2 hot glasses for you and a friend. Enjoy!

How to make a Surfer on Acid by our favorite, local bartender
Put some ice in a shaker, add 2 counts of Jager, 1 count of Malibu Coconut Run and little pinnapple juice. Shake it up and serve.

  1. Back in the day in Seattle, at The Off Ramp they had Surfing on Acid. Same ingredients I believe, but served in pint glass. Drank em all night, TASTY!!!!
